Triggerman & Kid Pistol, the Deadly Duo

This is a pair of mercenary hero-hunters with a gunfighter style that hints at the Shadow or his imitator the Spider, mashed up with a less gun-shy Batman.  You could either use them for darker, more gritty campaigns or play up the absurdity of a hitman with a teen sidekick and go for more camp version of them.  They could work with other supervillains if paid enough, but might be a better fight when used on their own (maybe ambushing a lone hero or a pair of them) or alongside non-powered organized crime types.

Triggerman

If Triggerman has a civilian name it's been lost in the jungle of aliases he's used over the years while stalking his targets before a kill.  Rumor has it that he's been working as a hired shooter since he was ten, and he's certainly taken out more than a few powered vigilantes who've tried to stop him in the past.  These days he's much in demand by employers who are worried about supers nosing into their business.  His fees are high, but few gunmen are willing (much less able) to go toe-to-toe with people with powers or ultratech or magic.  Triggerman, he has faith in his guns and his skills.

In the last few years he's also been seen working with a younger killer who goes by "Kid Pistol" professionally.  This has people speculating about whether Triggerman may be thinking about retiring after he trains up a successor.  There have also been a lot of "sidekick" jokes, but not to their faces.

Description: Lithe, graceful man with a huge automatic pistol in each hand.  Wears an enormous black hooded cape over a dark green bodysuit with the left arm, left torso and shoulders in lighter green.  There are paired black shoulder holsters under each arm, and plain silver rings on both hands which serve as lockout sensors and controls for his pistols.  His guns will only fire for him and can be triggered remotely if desired.  You can bet he's got backups of those hand cannons somewhere nearby too, and there's an apparently endless supply of ammo concealed in and under that cape of his.

Gender: Male            Age: 32?           Height: 6'0"           Eyes: Black

Hair: Dyed Red                                       Skin: Pale                   Build: Trim

Approach: Relentless                         Archetype: Guerrilla

Health:  40 + (5 x H)

Powers: Hero-Killer Pistols d10, Presence d8, Invisibility d6

Qualities: Ranged Combat d10, Hired Gun d8, Imposing d8, Stealth d6

Status: (# of Enemies Engaged) 4+ - d10 / 2-3 - d8 / 0-1 - d6

Abilities:

Price of Weakness (A) Attack and Hinder using Ranged Combat.  If the target status is d4 or d6, use your Max + Min dice.  If target status die is d8, use your Max die.  If target status is d10 or d12, use your Mid die.

The Odds Are In My Favor (I) If you are outnumbered by nearby opponents, reduce all damage dealt to you by 2.

Vindictive (R) After making an Attack action during your turn, use your Mid die to make another Attack against one target of the initial Attack.

Your Friends Can't Help You (I) At the start of your turn, gain a bonus equal to the number of opponents that Attacked you since your last turn.

Upgrades & Masteries (optional):

Group Fighter (I) +20 Health.  When you take an action that lets you make an Attack, also make an Attack using your Mid die.

Master Mercenary (I) If you have a contract for a specific task, automatically succeed at an Overcome where your payment is at stake.

Tactics

Triggerman prefers to use enemy numbers against them, diving into crowds of opponents and blazing away with stylish gun fu moves.  He spams Price of Weakness against whoever's drawn his ire, burning his reaction for Vindictive to pile on the hurt.  His Group Fighter upgrade adds even more hurt, and he gets bonuses from Your Friends Can't Help You the more he's attacked, while The Odds Are In My Favor reduces the damage he takes in a confused firefight or brawl.

Outside of murder-related activities, he's also pretty intimidating and can be fairly stealthy when he needs to be.  It's debatable whether his Presence and Invisibility powers are actually superhuman or if he's just pulling a Batman with them.

If his "sidekick" Kid Pistol is along for the ride, Triggerman will often let him bait a group of heroes into jumping the Kid while he stays stealthy, then leap in and bust up the crowd that forms.

Kid Pistol

Kid Pistol's origin is a mystery, having shown up apparently out of nowhere as Triggerman's sidekick about three years ago.  He's a disturbingly enthusiastic young killer and as cocky as it gets most of the time, but he's always polite around his...mentor?  Partner?  Boss?  The relationship between the two halves of the "Deadly Duo" (The Kid's idea - Triggerman tolerates it) is unclear.  There have been a few questions about just how young the Kid was when he first showed up, complicated by the fact he's a bit of a baby-face despite being a hardened criminal.  The supercrime community isn't big on enforcing child endangerment laws anyway, and anyone who pries into Kid pistol's business is going to be the one in danger anyway, not him.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Kid does have one gap in his armor - he's incredibly awkward around women, and has a hard time even talking to them.  Shooting them, sure, he can do that, but Triggerman tries to keep him well clear of social interactions.  The blushing and stuttering and clumsy attempts at small talk are just uncomfortable for everyone involved, especially when it involves the target of a hit.

Description: Short, tough-looking young man with an outsized automatic pistol in one hand.  Wears a short dark green jacket over a dark red bodysuit, with black boots, utility belt, and holster on his left hip.  Has a variety of ammunition, small explosives, incendiaries and flashbangs tucked away in his utility belt and jacket.  Wears a silver ring on each hand that act as sensor lockouts and remote triggers for his hand cannon.

Gender: Male            Age: 18?           Height: 5'7"           Eyes: Hazel

Hair: Auburn Buzzcut                                   Skin: Pale                   Build: Wiry

Approach: Relentless                         Archetype: Predator

Health:  35 + (5 x H)

Powers: Gadgets d10, Hand Cannon d8, Agility d6

Qualities: Ranged Combat d10, Banter d8, Killer Sidekick d8, Acrobatics d6

Status: (# of Enemies Engaged) 0-1 - d10 / 2-3 - d8 / 4+ - d6

Abilities:

Flash-Bang-Boom (A) Hinder multiple targets using Gadgets.  Use your Max die.  Attack any target that gains a penalty this way that already had at least one penalty created by you using your Mid + Min dice.

No Escape (R) When an opponent moves away from you, you may follow them and roll your single status die as a Hinder against them.

Shootout (A) Attack using Ranged Combat.  Use your Max die.  If the target does not Attack you on their next turn, Hinder them using your Mid die.

Take Advantage (A) Attack using Ranged Combat.  Use your Max die.  If the target is in the Red zone or has a penalty created by you, use your Max + Mid dice instead.

Tactics

Kid Pistol prefers to tackle one target at a time, using Shootout or Take Advantage to pour on the pressure at range or in close.  If someone tries to escape his sights he'll use No Escape to stick with them and debuff them at the same time.  If he gets mobbed he'll use Flash-Bang-Boom and hope his partner Triggerman can take advantage of the crowd, as well as using No Escape to slip away if anyone else tries to back off from the scrum.

The Kid is a mouthy cuss during a fight, and favors an acrobatic fighting style and close-in gun fu rather than sniping from a distance.  He and Triggerman work well together, although it's not clear exactly how loyal they really are to one another if things went far south.
