Fist of Shadows, Master Ninja

This guy's a bit of a "Movie Ninja" stereotype, and prefers to be the only villain in a scene.  No objections to leading lower-ranked ninja clan members, though.  You could re-flavor him into a Shredder clone pretty easily if need be - having Krang and Bebop and Rock Steady hanging around crippling his status die would go a ways toward him being so incompetent sometimes, anyway.

Fist of Shadows

Ninjas are all about concealing their origins, personal details, even their identity.  This guy's a very good ninja.  Even finding out that people call him the Fist of Shadows is probably going to take an Overcome, much less why he's targeting you or how to get him to stop.   

Description: In uniform, a black-clad ninja with a flowing hooded cloak.  Undisguised and out of uniform, an athletic man of Japanese ancestry with strange bone-white skin, usually dressed with understated elegance whether he's in a Western business suit or more traditional Japanese garb.  Disguised, he can look like practically anyone - his weird base skin tone is the result of chemical treatments that make dyes work exceptionally well, and he is a master of other borderline supernatural disguise techniques.

Status: (# of Other Villains) 0 - d10 / 1-2 - d8 / 3+ - d6

Abilities:

Graceful Evasion (R) When Attacked, Defend yourself by rolling your single Acrobatics die.  Boost yourself with the amount of damage reduced.  

Ki-Balancing Strike (A) Attack using Ninja Arsenal.  Use your Max die.  Recover Health equal to your Mid + Min dice.

Stinging Flurry of Strikes (A) Attack multiple targets using Ninja Arsenal.  Hinder each target using your Max die.

Strike From Nowhere (A) Attack using Stealth.  Use your Max die.  Defend against all Attacks against you until your next turn with your Mid die. 

Upgrades & Masteries:

Mook Squad Gain Summon Genin (A) Replenish your Ninja Genin minions up to the number of heroes in the scene.

Master Mercenary (I) If you have a contract for a specific task, automatically succeed at an Overcome where your payment is at stake.

Tactics

Fist of Shadows is an agile, efficient and versatile fighter, equally good in melee or at short range where his arsenal of blades and gimmick weaponry works best.  Stinging Flurry of Strikes lets him hurt and hinder multiple foes.  Strike From Nowhere leverages his supernatural stealth and invisibility while defending him against counter-attacks.  His Graceful Evasion reaction lets him smoothly avoid Attacks while Boosting himself.  Finally, Ki-Balancing Strike hits hard while providing serious healing.

His upgrade lets him call in more minions for support, and his mastery reflects the importance of fulfilling whatever mission he's been assigned.  Beyond fighting techniques, his powers and qualities reward Overcomes involving sneaking around, evading guards and pursuers, and keeping a cool head in a crisis.   

Fist of Shadows is more of a superhuman "movie/anime" ninja than a realistic one based on history, although ninjas as a whole are so mythologized it's hard to draw a line between fantasy and reality.  He's a Loner archetype only in the sense that he dislikes working with peers, and will happily bring along mobs of less experienced genin minions and more capable chunin lieutenants if he expects to face serious opposition - like a team of superheroes.

Ninja Genin d8 minions

Description: They're junior ninjas.  Black outfits, exotic weapons and tools.  Unless they're disguised, in which case they could look like almost anyone.

Genin: Add +2 to rolls when taking an Overcome action to use stealth or deception to get past security.
